Questions and Motions to Council

Between us Lynn and I have tabled three motions and four questions ahead of CWaC's first council meeting on Tuesday 21 May.

The three motions tabled relate to:

  1. Car Parking charges - and invites the new council to halt immediately any proposed charges that haven't already been implemented by the council - and where they have been to ensure a minimum of 3 hours free parking a day EVERYWHERE in the Borough;
  2. Air Quality
  3. Notice of Motion - this motion proposes a technical change to the way in which the Chairman of the Council can refuse to put proposed notice of motion on the Council's agenda.  The change, if adopted, will require the Chairman to engage in a dialogue regarding any notice he intends to refuse - rather than just refuse them as happens at the moment.
The three questions I've posed are:
  1. When will we finally see action in Frodsham to improve air quality along the A56 in general and in the AQMA in particular?  [Air Quality Management Area - the AQMA covers the A56 junction with Fluin Lane];
  2. Howey Lane in Frodsham remains in a deplorable state.  Frodsham's annual downhill run takes place in just over a month.  Will the road be repaired by then or should the organisers look for an alternative route?
  3. Ashton Drive Frodsham remains in a shocking state.  Why has this road not been repaired notwithstanding the countless referrals to the Council's Highway team and even the Chief Executive being shown the want of repair on a personal tour?
As an innovation and to reinforce just how bad Howey Lane and Ashton Drive are I have specifically referred CWaC to this blog site and the following photographs:
